The Health&Safety Executive (HSE) said two prohibition notices had been served on platform operator CNR and one on KCA Deutag, the drilling contractor on the platform, following an initial investigation into the accident.
The HSE said Keith Ireland, a KCA Deutag employee, had been removing a flange from a mud pump when he was hit by fluid at high pressure. "The mud pump was found to have been under pressure at the time of the incident," said an HSE spokesman.
