The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has recalculated the country’s proven gas reserves to 202 trillion cubic feet, up from 187 Tcf, while leaving the estimated figure for unproven reserves at 600 Tcf of natural gas.
However, despite this resource boost, only a small amount of gas is used in-country, largely due to consumers' inability to pay and poor investment conditions.
