The stalemate between Norway's Equinor and Aker BP over the development of the North of Alvheim-Krafla-Askja (Noaka) area continues as Aker BP seeks approval to extend the deadlines for critical decisions for several of its licences, writes Ole Ketil Helgesen.
The two companies are still in gridlock. In January, Aker BP voted against operator Equinor’s concept for a separate development of their 50:50-owned North Sea Krafla and Askja discoveries, which constitute the northern part of the larger Noaka area.
