Total has hit non-commercial oil at its Jamm-1XB wildcat on the Rufisque Deep block off Senegal.
The French supermajor has now taken the Pacific Drilling-owned drillship Pacific Santa Ana off the well and it is en route to neighbouring Mauritania where it will drill the Richat-1 exploration well.
Total operates Rufisque Deep on 60%, with Malaysian state giant Petronas on 30% and Senegalese state player Petrosen on 10%.
