Engineers working on a subsea electricity link between the UK and Norway may have stumbled upon the wreckage of a World War II bomber plane.
Sonar imagery conducted by workers on the North Sea Link project appears to have revealed an RAF Short Stirling bomber, a type of aircraft used to fly reinforcements to the Norwegian resistance.
Nigel Williams, North Sea Link project director for National Grid, told UK broadcaster BBC: "We use advanced sonar equipment to scan the sea-bed at depths that range between 100 and 600 metres.”
