Norway’s upcoming 24th licensing round came under fire last weekend as one of the government’s support parties voted in favour of cancelling the round, writes Beate Schjolberg.
The Liberal Party’s annual congress passed a proposal from its youth wing to scrap the round to protect Norway’s northern waters and the global climate, after first narrowly rejecting a move to oppose all further licence awards on the Norwegian continental shelf.
