NOV won the deal after beating rival TSC Offshore of the US and Norway’s Aker MH.
The drilling equipment package will be built at NOV’s global manufacturing bases and will be delivered at the end of the first quarter of 2013.
The Friede & Goldman-designed Super M2 rig will have a water depth capability of 300 feet and is able to drill to a depth of 9000 metres.
