Russian independent Novatek's goal to become a leading global liquefied natural gas supplier appears to have received more backing from authorities, which have decided to effectively hand it control of another major gas asset in West Siberia, writes Vladimir Afanasiev.
At stake is the Soletsko-Khanaveyskoye gas field on the Gydan Peninsula in the Yamal-Nenets region, which until now has remained in state ownership.
