Technically, LNG export licences have been issued to three Novatek subsidiaries that are expected to be charged with these developments.
Novatek owns exploration and development licences for four large blocks on the Gydan peninsula that lie next to the Yamal peninsula, where the gas producer leads Yamal LNG as the operator of South Tambey gas field.
According to the company, it is planning to export gas from at least two blocks at Gydan, Utrenneye and Geofizicheskoye, in the form of LNG, sometime after 2022.
