Russia’s largest independent gas producer Novatek has emerged as the sole bidder for an exploration and development licence for the Gydansky block in a remote area of the Yamal-Nenets autonomous region in West Siberia as auction terms were revealed.
According to Russia's Minister of Natural Resources & Environment, Sergey Donskoy, two Novatek subsidiaries — Arctic LNG 1 and Yurkharovneftegaz — have submitted bids to participate in the tender for the licence, to be held in Moscow on 9 June.
