Russian gas producer Novatek has signed binding agreements to sell minority interests in its Arctic LNG 2 liquefied natural gas project to both China's CNOOC Ltd and a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corporation.

CNOOC Ltd will join the LNG project in Russia’s Gydan peninsula in West Siberia after acquiring a 10% interest while CNPC unit China National Oil & Gas Exploration & Development Company (CNODC) will also buy a 10% stake through a separate agreement.
