The next few years are expected to be very positive for Norway’s petroleum industry, but officials warn that there is a risk of a steep production decline from the mid-2020s if there are no new major discoveries on the Norwegian continental shelf.
More Norwegian gas was sold in 2017 than in any previous year. While oil production was down slightly, overall production rose for the fourth straight year.
