Australia's upstream industry has welcomed a draft final report on hydraulic fracturing in the Northern Territory that found risks associated with shale gas activity can be managed by effective regulation, writes Russell Searancke.
Justice Rachel Pepper, chair of the inquiry established one year ago by the Northern Territory government, noted that the "overall conclusion is that risk is inherent for an onshore shale gas industry".
