The number of exploration and production companies filing for bankruptcy protection in the US has gone up in 2019 amid a prolonged low commodity price environment, according to a recent report from law firm Haynes & Boone.
A total of 26 companies have made bankruptcy filings so far this year, with 20 of those filing since May, according to the report.
