BP exchanged stakes in the Seminole San Andres unit, Sheep Mountain and other interests in the Cowden area of the Permian basin for equity in an offshore field. Oxy produces an average of 199,000 boepd in the Permian basin.
BP swapped the properties for Oxy's one-third stake in the UK company's deep-water Horn Mountain field. The field is located in the Mississippi Canyon area of the Gulf of Mexico.
