The Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) refuted suggestions by Ethiopian Mines & Energy Minister Alemayehu Tegenu that the government is effectively in control of the resource-rich region in the coutnry’s south-west.
In an interview late last week, Alemayehu claimed government troops are in control of Ogaden, a view described by the ONLF as “wishful thinking, designed to give a false sense of security” to oil companies.
