Pakistan’s state-owned Oil & Gas Development Company (OGDC) plans later this year to start shale gas exploration drilling in Sindh province.
OGDC is aiming to spud the first such unconventional well in December as part of a touted 10-well drilling campaign.
The operator is said to have identified potential shale gas and oil targets some five years ago.
Pakistan's government has tasked OGDC and compatriot Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) with exploring for shale resources and studying development costs.
