Uzbekistan has started oil production at the Mingbulakskoye field in the the country's Namanganskaya region, almost two years after state-run player Uzbekneftegaz and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) decided to proceed with the project, writes Vladimir Afanasiev.
According to the Energy Ministry, regional subsidiaries of Uzbekneftegaz and CNPC have equal 50% stakes in project operator Mingbulakneft, which was established in 2008 under an earlier agreement for joint exploration and development of the deposit.
