Labour market projections between 2010 and 2020 by the Petroleum Human Resources Council of Canada (PHRC) point to soaring oilprices and age-related attrition as being the major causes in the lack of experienced workers.
The greatest demand will be for oil and gas drilling and services field workers, trades like heavy-duty equipment mechanics, industrial electricians, instrumentation technicians, millwrights, and machinists, engineers from all disciplines, geologists and geophysicists.
