Oil Search brings in BG to assess gas resource

While ExxonMobil is now reviewing LNG project options—likely targeting customers in North Asia and the US—Oil Search has signed a memorandum of understanding with BG to look at gas sources with a focus on reserves outside the PNG Gas Project areas.

If upwards of 6 trillion cubic feet can be secured, then a one or two-train LNG project could be on the cards, Oil Search says.
