Earlier this month, the Wasuma-1 exploration well in Block PPL 219 began drilling and preparations are continuing to spud the Korka-1 exploration in the second quarter.
These are “the first in a series of exploration and appraisal wells planned for 2010 and 2011 in a programme designed to accelerate further LNG development in PNG,” said Oil Search managing director Peter Botten.
