NIGERIA loses between $7 billion and $12 billion annually because of illegal bunkering, according to a study by the Nigeria Natural Resource Charter (NNRC).
Recent figures show that $12.4 billion was lost in 2016 alone, more than 50% of the national budget for that year, according to NNRC consultant Niyi Awodeyi.
