Nigeria must take over operatorship of prized Niger Delta development Block OML-11 in the interests of national security, federal government lawyers told a High Court in the capital Abuja, in a hearing initiated by Shell to defend its title, writes Barry Morgan.
Shell is seeking a court order compelling the government to grant or renew the licence in the same manner in which it won renewal of 14 similar legacy licences on 30 June.
