AUSTRIA'S OMV remains bullish over its $60 million-to-$70 million Patricia/Baleen gas project off the south-east Australian state of Victoria, despite delays and concerns over its commerciality. The project is OMV's first development Down Under after taking over Sydney-based Cultus Petroleum last year. If successful, it will also be the first source of alternative gas supply in the Bass Strait to rival BHP and Esso Australia, a unit of ExxonMobil.
