Austrian operator OMV is lining up the semi-submersible drilling rig Transocean Spitsbergen to drill a crucial well at the Wisting discovery in the Barents Sea off Norway in January that will include an important horizontal element.
The results of the Wisting Central II probe will have a major influence on the economics of a potential field development in the so-called Hoop High area.
