Austrian operator OMV expects to raise the resource estimate for its Wisting discovery in the Barents Sea off Norway to the high end of its previous 200 million to 500 million barrels estimate after a successful drilling campaign earlier this year.
Bernhard Krainer, managing director of OMV Norway until last week, and his replacement David Latin, who will be responsible for OMV’s North West Europe business, told Upstream that the Wisting Central-2 appraisal was “a tremendous success”.
