Confirming an Upstream report, sources said ONGC had amended its previous tender for four jack-ups, floated several months ago, and has added six more units in the fresh tendering exercise.
Bid documents for the 10-rig tender are on sale until 13 November.
The bid submission deadline is still 23 November, although drilling sources suggested this is likely to be extended to accommodate more players in the procurement process.
