Sources said ONGC now wants 10 jack-ups instead of the earlier plan for four such units covered by a tender floated in August.
“They (ONGC) had already floated a tender for four jack-ups. The buzz is that this tender would be most likely amended to 10 rigs very soon,” said a drilling source.
“Tender documents for the 10 jack-up rigs will then be available for resale in the market,” he added.
