Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has fired the starting gun on the main subsea contract for its $5 billion-plus KG-DWN-98/2 deep-water project off India’s east coast.

Industry sources told Upstream that state-controlled ONGC has floated expressions of interest for an integrated package covering the subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines and subsea production systems (SPS) required for the deep-water development. They added that at least four top-line teams of contracting groups are expected to compete for the work.
