India’s state-owned Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has launched long-awaited tenders for five deep-water drillships or semi-submersibles for its huge KG-DWN-98/2 project off the country’s east coast.
In a move that will be welcomed by work-starved rig owners, ONGC this month floated two tenders for five drilling units with a combined contract value of more than $1.5 billion.
The date for bid submissions has initially been set at 1 July, industry sources said.
