India’s state-controlled Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is reported to have made a significant oil discovery near its prolific Mumbai High field off the country’s west coast.

The discovery was said to have been made at offshore well WO-24-3 west of the Mumbai High area and is estimated to hold an in-place reserve of about 146 million barrels, the Press Trust of India said, quoting anonymous officials from ONGC.
