The US oil rig count has climbed again for a record 20th week in a row, rising 11 units to 733, the most since April 2015, according to energy services player Baker Hughes.
The latest total is more than double the same week a year ago when there were only 325 active oil rigs.
However, the number of rigs chasing gas declined by three to 182, according to Baker Hughes data.
