The US onshore rig count has continued its steady march higher but the rate of increase levelled off slightly in the latest week as US operators began to digest the impact of declining oil prices on their spending plans, writes Noah Brenner.
Operators working the shale gas and tight oil plays added four rigs in the week ended 5 May, bringing the onshore count to 853, according to the latest figures from services giant Baker Hughes.
