Statoil was getting to grips with a dangerous well control incident on its Troll field off Norway, as Upstream went to press.
A flow of gas and water from the G4 well onto the drilling deck of semi-submersible Songa Endurance, caused by an expanding gas bubble in the marine riser, sparked fears for the drilling crew’s safety on 15 October.
