BP continues to eye the potential for extending the life of the Petrojarl Foinaven, the first floating production, storage and offloading vessel deployed in the UK's West of Shetland area, writes Rob Watts.

Foinaven was sanctioned in 1994 ahead of first output in 1997, the first deep-water development on the UK continental shelf.
