Australia’s Origin Energy is selling its Ironbark gas project in Queensland to the Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) joint venture, in which it has a stake.

APLNG is buying the project for A$213 million (US$164.3 million) but Origin will remain responsible for the development of the project as upstream operator.

The Ironbark field lies in Queensland’s onshore Surat basin and is estimated to hold 129 petajoules of proven plus probable gas reserves.
