The discovery was made with the DD-2 exploration well that targeted the Demir Dagh prospect.
There is talk of estimated oil in place being up to 3 billion barrels. The well completed testing in March 2013.
“The well flowed at rates of close to 14,000 barrels per day from two zones following sustained testing,’’ a source told Upstream.
In a recent statement, Oryx talked only about the successful completion of DD-2 but gave no estimate of the size of the oil accumulation it has found.
