P-34 FPSO studied for Espirito Santo and Sergipe-Alagoas

BrazilIAN state player Petrobras is studying the possibility of using the P-34 floating production, storage and offloading vessel to carry out extended well tests in the deep waters off the Espirito Santo and Sergipe-Alagoas basins before commercial development eyed for the areas later this decade, writes Fabio Palmigiani.

The P-34 is currently producing pre-salt oil from a single well in the Jubarte field in the Parque das Baleias complex, as part of a test of more than four years.

According to Petrobras exploration and production director Jose Miranda Formigli, the FPSO is expected to soon leave Jubarte, and will remain docked until the company determines its next location.

“The P-34 may be an excellent alternative to perform extended well tests for us in the future.
