Over the past two months, the master limited partnership, which is based in Long Beach, California, acquired the Mid-Alberta pipeline from Imperial Oil, and the Rangeland system from BP.
The two lines had served as gathering systems for conventional crude produced in the Western Canadian Sedimentary basin, however, given its rapid maturity, the system will be refitted to handle growing synthetic crude output.
