What could have been the Philippines' first liquefied natural gas import project appears to have been delayed by a couple of years and might not now start operations until 2021.

Australia-listed Energy World Corporation (EWC) has been allowed a further two years to complete infrastructure for its Pagbilao import facility in the Philippines.

The Department of Energy has granted EWC a permit to construct, own and operate the LNG receiving and regasification facility on Pagbilao Grande Island.
