Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has launched an investigation into former prime ministers Nawaz Sharif and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi relating to alleged irregularities concerning a liquefied natural gas import project, writes Amanda Battersby.
The enquiry will focus on the ex-prime ministers’ alleged misuse of power to award contracts to favoured companies without complying with all the required tender process formalities.
