Pakistan’s Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has directed the Ministry of Maritime Affairs to pull out all the stops for a third liquefied natural gas floating storage and regasification unit to be installed on a fast-track basis near the country's commercial capital Karachi.
The Ministry has reportedly suggested that the novel facility be located at Jharri Creek-Chann Wadoo on a discrete channel away from Port Qasim, so as not to disrupt normal ship traffic, but this is not yet a done deal.
