Pan American Energy has started drilling its Hokchi-2 well, the first to be drilled by a non-Pemex operator in Mexico since the country opened up its oil sector.
The Argentine player began operations at 1:30am local time on Sunday 30 October, chief executive Richard Spies told Upstream.
The spud-date had originally been planned for earlier in the month, but was delayed several times.
