CANADIAN independent Paramount Resources is already planning to drill on land it will acquire from Apache Canada in a C$459.5 million ($354 million) deal, writes Caroline Evans.

The deal includes about 46,000 acres of undeveloped acreage in the Wapiti area of Alberta, which Paramount said is located within the core of the over-pressured, liquids-rich fairway of Alberta's Deep basin and also has "multiple" intervals in the Montney formation.
