The building programme includes four new land rigs for deployment overseas and two ultra-deep drilling barge rigs for the Gulf of Mexico, one of which will be a conversion of an existing workover unit.
The land units are separate from Parker's recent 50:50 joint-venture agreement with Saudi Arabian contractor Abdullah Rasheed Al-Rushaid, which also requires four new land rigs by the end of this year.
