Iran confirmed this week that China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) has withdrawn from plans to develop Phase 11 of Iran’s giant South Pars natural gas field.
Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh said state-owned National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) will now develop South Pars - known in Qatar as North Field - on its own without a need for foreign partners.
