OMV is pushing ahead with its 400 million to 500 million-barrel Wisting oil project in the Barents Sea off Norway, though the Austrian operator may hand over the steering wheel to Norwegian partner Equinor.
Industry sources told Upstream that both OMV and licence partner Equinor are keen on getting the ball rolling on development of the promising discovery, which is the northernmost find ever made in Norway.
