Azerbaijan state oil company Socar has put a partnership of its Socar Umid subsidiary and UK-based Nobel Upstream in charge of carrying out exploration and development work at the Umid and Babek gas and condensate fields in the Caspian Sea.
“We are working on a new deal for Umid and Babek. The risk service type of contract (RSC) will be signed for the development of the Umid gas and condensate field, and exploration at neighbouring Babek later this year”, said Vagif Aliyev, head of Socar’s investments department.
