ConocoPhillips is attempting to seize assets in Europe, the Caribbean and elsewhere as part of a $2.07 billion award handed to the US independent by an international tribunal over the expropriation of assets in Venezuela in 2007, writes Caroline Evans.

"We don't have an estimate today, we're just trying to look where all the assets are, and it's not close to the $2 billion today but over time we expect to be able to recover it," chief executive Ryan Lance said at the company's annual shareholder meeting on Tuesday.
