The long-discussed Pechora liquefied natural gas scheme to develop an onshore LNG plant on the southeast coast of the Barents Sea remains in the research and survey phase, despite the involvement of Russian state-controlled oil giant Rosneft since 2015, writes Vladimir Afanasiev.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Russian LNG Congress in Moscow last week, an executive from project operator RN-Pechora SPG told Upstream the company has submitted 12 options to implement the project for study by Rosneft and its partner, Moscow-based privately held company Alltech.
